Openbox has gained immense popularity because it is affordable. Easy to use by anyone and without any bogus software. Now that IPTV has itself made an impact on the market. Users have no other choice to run the IPTV service on the setup box. We have shared an easy way to setup IPTV on Openbox.
Note: Ram and its management play an important role in the playback streaming of IPTV. As it buffers the video before playing. So you can have uninterrupted fun. The Openbox has a decent amount of Ram. Therefore, it may crash if you put too much load on it. Please be careful of this when buying it.
The most efficient IPTV player app on Openbox V8s is known as WebTV. The process of running it is very simple and smooth. All you need to do is import the M3U file. It can be done with the help of an external flash drive. Either the system runs the USB by itself. Or you have to choose the option of “Read By USB”. This will manually allow the box to run the system file.
Recommended: If you face any issue while running the file. Simply rename it to something else. The best example is to change the name to “WebTV”. While leaving the file extension name as m3u. So now the system can easily run and diagnose the applications.
Still, if you face any issues while streaming channels. Simply restart the Openbox and your internet connection.
Adding IPTV channels to Openbox
Step 1: Simply follow these simple tasks:
1-Attach the external USB containing the Web.m3u file
2-Click on the Menu
3-Find the option of “Multimedia”
4-Access “WebTV” from the list.
Step 2: If there are any pre-existing channels on the list. Make sure you delete them all before the next step. Now press the yellow button available on the remote control. “Read By USB” will appear and channels will start showing.
Step 3: If you are unable to find the option of “Read By USB”. You can simply make your way back to the main menu and select “Tools”
Step 4: Now select the option to “Upgrade By USB”.
Step 5: Moving on to the next page. You can change the upgrade mode to “Misc files”. From the bottom of the list, you will see “Select & Upgrade”. Now press OK to save changes.
Step 6: Now a prompt will come up. Select Web TV.M3U(Web Stream). Make sure that you see a green tick which will appear on the right side. Indicating that you are ready to Upgrade.
After the upgrade process is completed successfully, you will see the message “Upgrade Finish. Press info key”. Now you can make your way back to the main menu. From the list of multimedia choose the WebTV app. And channels will start appearing again after setup IPTV on Openbox.
